I had someone request [lastfm]Ty Herndon[/lastfm], “What Mattered Most” yesterday. I forgot how much I loved that song and how much I really liked Ty Herndon! I had to find out what he’s been up to.
Ty Herndon was one of my favorite country artists in the 90′s. How could I have forgotten about him? I had the opportunity to see him once in Nashville, he was a super nice guy. It was ‘Fan Fair’, which is now called CMA Fan fest, and there was a long line of folks waiting to get Ty’s autograph. A little boy in a wheelchair was rolled up to the front of the line and Ty Herndon excused himself from his long line of adoring fans and spent some time with this young boy. I thought, ‘Wow, now that’s a cool thing to do!’ I immediately became more of a fan.
I was searching around the internet today and found out what Ty has been up to. He’s been working on new music. Ty recently started writing his own music and has turned to a more inspirational sound. In fact he has a new album, Journey On is filled songs written by Herndon that tell a deep personal story of his faith and inspiration he experienced over the past few years. Read more from Ty’s website here!
Glad Ty Herndon is still on the music map and hasn’t gone into obscurity!
This was always one of my favorite Ty Herndon songs. Ty singing about a little “Steam”.
