Miranda Lambert and her favorite body part, her butt, are front and center on the June cover of Self magazine.
Miranda dishes about eating healthy, exercising, and women with curves in the article. She says, “I don’t care about being stick-thin. I don’t want stuff to jiggle. Really skinny actresses make me hungry. I see them and think, Honey, you need to eat! I’m lucky I don’t have to live like that. I feel my best when I’m a toned, not flabby, size 8.”
Miranda is working hard to be healthy, but she admits she hasn’t always been health conscious and has been criticized for it. She said she’s seen old pictures of herself and asked hubby Blake Shelton, “Dude, why didn’t you tell me I got fat?” Like a champ Blake had the perfect answer, telling her, “That would go over like a lead balloon. It’s not my job to tell you you’re fat. It’s my job to tell you you’re beautiful.”
Miranda’s new healthy routine involves snacking on healthy foods and working out. She doesn’t particularly care for working out, but she does it for the love of her trainer. “I love it afterward, of course, but my trainer is so nice, I want to do push-ups to please him.” The exercise is paying off too, because Miranda has fine tuned her favorite body part, her butt! “I don’t mind having a big butt. I actually like that about myself.”
Miranda says being healthy is all about finding a “happy medium”. “I won’t give up what I enjoy to look perfect. I want to find a happy medium between feeling good about my body and still having a beer and some barbecue. I drink Bacardi. My trainer, Bill, approves. I mean, he’d rather me not drink, but that’s not an option.”
