Karen Fairchild from Little Big Town took a break from motorboating to talk to the Frogmen about their hit “Pontoon”, touring with Rascal Flatts, and who has “beef” in Nashville.

The Frogmen had to talk to Karen about the biggest song this summer, “Pontoon”, and she even admitted it had to be on the “top of the lake playlist”. The part of the song getting the most attention is most definitely the line “mmmmm motorboating”. Karen said the first time the band heard that line it “made us laugh”.

Little Big Town is joining Rascal Flatts on the road for their Changed tour. The Changed tour has a huge line up with Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town, Eli Young Band, and Eden’s Edge. Karen said there’s a point in the show when all the bands come out on stage and sing together and she describes it as a “rocking choir”. The Frogmen asked her it there was any “beef” with that many artists on the road and she said what she loves about country music is that everybody gets along. She told them there was no “Toby-Dixie Chicks” drama with this tour. Karen joked that Little Big Town and Rascal Flatts have been friends “before they were Rascal Flatts and we were Little Big Town”.

With the rumors of a country star on American Idol, the Frogmen asked Karen if her and the band would sit on the judging panel. She said they would “if the money was right”. Karen admitted that it would be hard to critize contestants, but that they definitely need “tough skin” to be in the music industry.
