Jerrod Niemann’s new CD, Free the Music, was just released October 2nd. He called to give the Frogmen the scoop on his new record and how he’s helping to “free” the music in schools.

The last time the Frogmen saw Jerrod it was at K-Frog’s most recent birthday bash and security was involved. Jerrod joked about the situation saying, “it’s not fun until security gets involved.” Jerrod has been busy lately with his new CD and his new project donating instruments to schools. He talked about his most recent trip to Public School 22 in New York where he “donated a piano and drum set”.

Jerrod talked about the importance of music in schools and even talked about his experiences in school. Jerrod was very involved with “football, wrestling, baseball, and also drama”. He got started with music in middle school, but had a mishap with his clarinet. After that he said his band days “were short lived”. Band may not have worked out for Jerrod, but music definitely did. He even joked that “music used to keep me out of trouble, now it gets me in trouble.”
