An affectionate robot, who may or may not be a space traveler, plays the central role in the new video for the Eli Young Band’s latest single “Say Goodnight.”
Hit by a car on a lonely road, the driver (a young woman) helps nurse the robot back to ‘health’ and teaches him a few things about human interaction. They grow quite fond of each other in the process–which fits, somewhat loosely, with the subject matter of the single itself (a full-on love song).
And as woman and bot hold hands, frolic in fields, eat at a Japanese restaurant, and tuck each other in at night (yes, it’s all quite chaste), the members of the Eli Young Band show up here and there to sing and perform.
Curiously this isn’t the robot’s first time on screen. Taste of Country pointed out that the bot also appears (albeit briefly) in the film Argo.
