Critters are causing trouble! A TV station goes off air thanks to a skunk and a possum gets a win against the town of Brasstown.

POSSUM DROP

PETA won a battle in North Carolina after a judge sided with them to rule out the annual Possum Drop. The town of Brasstown celebrates New Year’s Eve with their version of the Times Square Ball Drop, instead they lower a live possum in a cage from a building roof to the ground. The judge agreed with PETA that subjecting the possum to the loud noises, crowds, and caging it amounted to animal cruelty.

TV STATION GETS SKUNKED OFF AIR

WXRM-TV in Colorado Springs was knocked off air by a skunk. The skunk had got into the transmitter room on top of Cheyenne Mountain and burned itself on the equipment. After being burned the skunk sprayed the transmitter which caused the breaker to trip, knocking the TV station off the air.
