The Frogmen in the Morning are in San Diego for the Tim McGraw concert aboard the USS Midway, and while they were on board they talked with multiple employees of the aircraft carrier museum who shared their own experiences of the USS Midway.
Scott McGaugh is the Marketing Director of the USS Midway Museum and was one of the volunteers instrumental in getting the USS Midway a permanent home in San Diego. Scott McGaugh provided information about the average age of the crew that used to man the USS Midway and he also gave some stats on just how big of a carrier the USS Midway is.
With 60 exhibits and 25 different restored aircraft on board, the ship is an excellent place to spend a day. The retired U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier has also been home to NCAA college basketball games and a tennis tournament, both held on the massive flight deck.
Rudy Shappee is the Exhibits Manager at the USS Midway and also a Navy Veteran. He talked to the Frogmen about why the USS Midway is such a great museum and also shared his favorite parts of the floating city.
Tim McGraw will be playing a record debut concert Tuesday night where he plans to play songs off of his new album “Two Lanes of Freedom”. Yahoo will be live streaming the event beginning at 7:30PM, and teh Frogmen will be reporting on the concert Wednesday morning.
