There’s one day to go until Valentine’s Day and you still haven’t found the perfect gift for the one you love.
Don’t panic, we have a few suggestions that will keep you from showing up empty handed for your V-Day date.
Check out these five DIY gift ideas that will get you thinking outside the (chocolate) box.
Chocolate Love Notes

Instead of buying another box of Russell Stover, this year personalize your love’s favorite chocolate.
On her Funkytime blog, Sibylle suggested buying a bag of fun-size candy bars like Snickers or a Three Musketeers and some construction paper. Write a love note for that special someone and tape it around each piece of chocolate. Now every little bar is a delicious reminder of how much you care.
Valentine Snack Mix

If chocolate just doesn’t seem like the right choice, Melissa from the blog, Mama Miss, suggests making your own trail mix.
Hers includes strawberry fruit snacks, M&M pink mix, strawberry shredded wheat, freeze-dried strawberries, heart cereal and yogurt covered cranberries.
Put the mix in a decorative bag or, if you’re interested in getting even more hands-on, follow Melissa’s instructions to make your own festive treat bag.

Rice Krispies Treats are always a hit, so why not make them for your sweetheart?
Lisa Kisch from the blog Babies, Paper and Song suggests you had three drops of red food coloring to melted marshmallow mix to make your treats pretty in pink. Later, use a heart shaped cookie cutter to punch out a few Rice Krispies hearts.

For the tea drinker in your life, make them their own Valentine’s Day brew.
On her blog Cupcakes and Cashmere, Emily Schuman gives six steps to creating your own tea bags. You’ll need to buy a bag of loose tea (she used jasmine) and coffee filters, along with some card stock, twine and a little thread.
Looking to go that extra mile? Buy some loose black tea and a selection of dried fruits like strawberries or cherries to create your own distinct blend.
Using your card stock, cut out a few hearts to write cute little messages on like “I Love You” or if you prefer puns, go with “You’re Tea-riffic.”
If this all seems a little too involved for you, go to the supermarket and buy a box of your lovers favorite tea and skip to Schuman’s final step. Replace their tag with your own personalized message. Now they’ll think of you every morning when they’re waiting for their tea to steep.
Spa In A Jar

Baking not really your thing? Why don’t you make your own spa in a jar.
Tonia from the blog The Gunny Sack, suggests you pick up a mason jar and fill it with a few items like a peppermint foot scrub, hand lotion, bath salts, a mud mask and body scrub along with a nail clipper and a mini candle or two.
Maybe even throw in a coupon for a free foot rub, courtesy of you.
