Original Der Wienerschnitzel To Be Designated Historic Landmark

There’s a Los Angeles roadside food stand that is to be designated a historic landmark. It’s Der Wienerschnitzel! Who doesn’t love hot dogs?

Back in 1961, John Galardi started the world’s largest hot dog chain on the Pacific Coast Hwy on Wilmington. To this day the original Der Wienerschnitzel is still open and operating. It’s said to be one of two Los Angeles roadside food stands that are to be designated historic landmarks.

Cindy Galardi Culpepper, John’s ex-wife took over the operations of the compnay after John passed away in 2013.
