Album releases become available for download Fridays at midnight East Coast Time. Since that’s 9pm Thursday night West Coast Time, every Thursday night, Pepper picks her three favorite songs from the new country albums and plays them on K-Frog for New at Nine! Here are her picks for this week.
Brandy Clark‘s had a hand in writing some major hits for other artists: including “Better Dig Two” for the Band Perry, and “Mama’s Broken Heart” for Miranda Lambert, but her sophomore album Big Day in a Small Town has already provided Brandy with her first Top 40 song as an artist, thanks to “Girl Next Door.” And we suspect that bigger and better things are on the horizon for her, too!
(Brandy also wrote this on my Instagram account: “Thank you, Pepper, and K-Frog – and everyone who tunes in – thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support – hope y’all love Big Day in a Small Town as much as I loved making and performing it every night!”)
Here are the three songs from Big Day in a Small Town that I played tonight for New at Nine:
- Love Can Go to Hell
- Girl Next Door
Look for Brandy on NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” next Tuesday, June 14th, and on “Live with Kelly” next Wednesday, June 15th.
