ANAHEIM (CBS Riverside) — Halloween time at Disneyland Resort returns on September 9 and runs through October 31.
This year marks the 15th Anniversary that Jack Skellington has taken over Haunted Mansion, bringing Haunted Mansion Holiday to New Orleans Square.
Themed after Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas film, the mansion is transformed into a blend of Halloween and Christmas that will leave guests spooked, yet filled with Christmas cheer.
Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy in Tomorrowland launches guests into a haunted part of the universe where ghosts appear out of the darkness and try to grab onto riders. The attraction features screams, haunting music and sound effects, while speeding through the galaxy.
Mickey’s Halloween Party also arrives in September. This is a separately ticketed event and promises to produce chills as The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow rides through the park.
Guests to Mickey’s Halloween Party will enjoy a firework show called “Halloween Screams,” hosted by the “Mater of Scare-omonies” Jack Skellington.
The park atmosphere is haunting during Mickey’s Halloween Party as the Cadaver Dans perform Halloween tunes while drifting on a raft in the fog-filled Rivers of America. Disney Villains pose throughout the park for guest photos while Mickey Mouse and other characters, dressed in their halloween costumes, do the same.
Non-party guests have a full line-up of activities including a Dia de los Muertos holiday skeleton display in Frontierland (through November 1), Fantasy in the Sky Firework display, and Mickey’s Soundsational Parade that marches down Main Street.
