Blake Shelton isn’t shy about speaking his mind, as he’s often proved on Twitter. In his most recent sparring match online, the country musician got into it with the Westboro Baptist Church.
The controversial religious organization tweeted him, asking him to repent for his sins, he responded in typical Shelton form. “Hey @WBCSaysRepent I see y’all are back at it!! Did y’all ever expand your gene pool or are you still nailing your immediate family members?” he wrote. From there, he posted a picture of the church’s founder Fred Phelps (who died in 2014), writing, “Never mind @WBCSaysRepent.. I think I just answered my own question…”
But Shelton didn’t stop there. Last but not least, he posted a doctored and blurred but still NSFW picture of Phelps engaged in a lewd act.
This isn’t the first time he’s butted heads with WBC. After they threatened to picked one of his concerts in 2013, he got into a Twitter fight with the group. TMZ caught Shelton shortly after their back-and-forth, where he had more choice words for them. “Westboro Baptist Church can b— me. Yeah, really they can. Can you quote me on that? They can b— me. I think that’s one of the Commandments,” he said, chuckling (via Taste of Country).
