Bloomington Receives Grant To Create Or Renovate Parks

San Bernardino County was among 50 communities in California to receive grant funding from the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). The unincorporated area of Bloomington, which is located in the County’s 5th Supervisorial District, was awarded $713,975.

The grant can be used toward the creation or renovation of parks and recreational facilities within the area. The Housing-Related Parks (HRP) Program is designed to provide financial incentives to cities and counties that have developed new affordable housing units. A part of the eligibility for the HRP Program grant includes having a compliant housing element.

Earlier this year, Bloomington celebrated the grand opening of Lillian Court senior housing, Bloomington Grove family housing and the Bloomington Branch Library. Plans are in the works to relocate Ayala Park. Learn more in this segment of Eye on the Community.
