Eric Church Fights Scalpers and Announces 2017 Tour

Eric Church is having a Record Year. Celebrating his seventh No. 1 single, fifth studio album, and most recently, his own furniture line.

But he is not stopping there.

Church announced last night that he will be hitting the road on the Holdin’ My Own tour in 2017. What makes this tour special is that for the first time in headlining history, he will not have any opening acts. That’s right, Eric Church will perform two full sets of music with an intermission in between.

In 2014, Church canceled nearly 1,000 concert tickets that were purchased and being resold by scalpers. For this tour, he is completely revamping how fans buy tickets. Pre-sale tickets will only be sold to his fan club members, the Church Choir. There will be no venue, radio, or credit card pre-sales.

During his Facebook Live announcement Church said, “You, the Church Choir, have the first crack at all the tickets and I hope you buy every damn one of them.”

He went on to warn fans against purchasing tickets on third-party websites because it is likely the tickets will be canceled and invalid by the concert date. In doing so, Church hopes that his true fans will have a one-of-a-kind concert experience without paying extreme ticket prices.

The tour launches January 13 in Lincoln, Nebraska, and will continue across North America before wrapping up in Nashville, Tennessee.
