Aaron Lewis of the rock band Staind is gearing up for the release of his third country album this Friday (Sptember 16th). It’s his first on his new label, Dot Records, and features guest vocals from country legends Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, and even bluegrass greats Alison Krauss and Dan Tyminski!
It also includes another special guest – Aaron’s daughter – on the closing track, “Travelin’ Soldier,” written by Texas singer-songwriter Bruce Robison, and made famous (or infamous?) by the Dixie Chicks.
“You know, ‘Sinner’ was one of the very first songs that came to be for this record,” Aaron says regards to the title track, in audio provided by his record label. “And it kinda seemed like the whole rest of the record fell in behind that song.
“And it really set the tone and the mood for the record,” he continues. “It was really the most blanketing statement that could be put across the whole record. There were other songs that could have been the title track, but it wouldn’t have had the same blanketing statement that would have applied to all the songs that were on there.”
Aaron will bring his “Sinners” Tour to Southern California next month, and you could win tickets for his stop at the City National Grove of Anaheim on Thursday, October 27th, all this week on the 5 Most Wanted, just after 7:30pm on K-Frog.
