10 Ways To Celebrate Fall

Now that the weather is starting to change (as subtle as it is living in Southern California), it’s a good time to do some fall family planning!

What are some fun ways to celebrate the change of seasons?  Here’s my 10 favorite things to do:

10 Ways To Celebrate Fall:

1 – SPORTS:  Don’t allow yourself to be a “football widow”.  Get involved in the game with the family, by making fun snacks together, dressing up in sports gear and letting the kids play referee.  Or let Dad take the boys to a Rams or Chargers game, and you take the girls out for a day of manicures and milkshakes.

2 – VISIT A ZOO:  During the fall, it seems as though the crowds are smaller.  It’s a great time to visit the zoo, when the animals are also enjoying the perfect weather.

3 – HOT CHOCOLATE & MOVIES:  Yes, rent a movie at Redbox and make some hot chocolate at home.  It’s cheap, fun and a great way to spend time together.

4 – PUMPKIN PATCHES:  There are a TON of pumpkin patches in the Inland Empire and Southern California.  All you have to do is Google it and you’re sure to find one close to you.

5 – APPLE PICKING:  Head up to beautiful Oak Glen and visit one of the Apple ranches for some apple picking.

6 – HIKING:  There are several scenic trails in the mountains of Southern California where you can pack a backpack with essentials and head out on a day trip.

7 – PARKS:  Put on a sweatshirt and Uggs and head to a local park for a picnic with the family.  Throw around a football or channel your inner kid and swing on a swing set.

8 – BAKING:  It’s a fun time to get the family together in the kitchen to get an early start on holiday baking.  Cookies and sweets are always fun; but why not make some hearty soups and chili together! Let the kids create paper chef hats and throw in all the ingredients.

9 – FIRE:  Make a cozy fire in the fireplace or in an outdoor fire pit!  Always fun!  Don’t forget the smores!

10 – FALL FESTIVALS:  Take a hay ride, or run thru a corn maze at a local fall festival.  Again, Google is your friend to find one close to you!
