The Writer Behind “Humble and Kind:” Lori McKenna

You already know and love Tim McGraw, the artist who made “Humble and Kind” THE Graduation Song of 2016, but are you familiar with the writer behind the song?

Lori McKenna earned national attention when Faith Hill included three of Lori’s songs on her 2005 album Fireflies (“Stealing Kisses,” “If You Ask,” and the title track). She’s also had her music recorded by Sara Evans, Mandy Moore, Jimmy Wayne, and is the writer behind Hunter Hayes‘ “I Want Crazy.”

Little Big Town has also recorded three of Lori’s songs, including the Grammy-winning “Girl Crush.”

“Humble and Kind” is the second Lori song Tim has recorded; the first being “I’m Workin'” on his 2007 album Let It Go.
