Crown Gold Exchange Robbery Suspects Sought: Reward Offered

Police said on Monday that they are looking for a man suspected in string of armed robberies at multiple Inland Empire Crown Gold Exchange locations.

A female employee of one of the Crown Gold Exchange locations said she was held up while working by a man who had a gun in his backpack and was described as wearing a hat with a black, curly wig.

The employee, who wished to remain anonymous said, “My heart was racing,” “I was pretty nervous. I have three kids. I just wanted to be able to go to them.”

CBS Los Angeles reports there is security video that has recorded images of the robbery suspect demanding the goods. Watch the video here.

The employee hit the panic button during the incident, which was the right thing to do according to Cesar Meyer, who is co-owner of Crown Gold Exchange:  “She hit the panic button,” Meyer said. “It’s terrifying seeing something like that. I’m glad so far everyone’s been safe.”

The Chino Crown Gold Exchange was robbed last Friday reportedly by the same man in a wig and hat.

This isn’t the first time Crown Gold was robbed, back in October, their Hemet store was robbed at gunpoint by two men.

Cesar Meyer said their stores don’t keep cash on hand and that they pay in checks. He went on to say, “We need to send a message to everyone.” “This is not the place to rob. We don’t have cash here; there’s nothing to get.”

According to Hemet police information has been shared among other police agencies but as of yet there haven’t been any arrests.

There is a $2,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the people involved in these robberies. If you have any information you’re asked to leave a tip with the Chino police department ‭(909) 628-1234 ‬or Corona police department (951) 736-2334‬.
