In the “Musical Insights” series, country artists share their thoughts on some of their most popular tunes.
The first single from Brantley Gilbert‘s forthcoming The Devil Don’t Sleep album is “The Weekend,” one that Brantley says he loves performing live.
“It’s a good timin’ song, it’s a feel good song, it’s a breath of fresh air,” Brantley says in a statement from his label.
“These people have been looking forward to these things for months, and we show up, and ‘The Weekend’ is a song that kind of puts me in that mood, you know what I mean?,” he continues. “And it puts me on that level that I can be right there with ’em when we come out on stage, especially when we do that song.
“These shows, the majority of the shows, is all about just trading energy and feeding off each other, and that song definitely feeds the machine.”
The Devil Don’t Sleep is scheduled for release on January 27th.
