According to authorities Christian Jacinto is on the run. The 39 year-old man is suspected of shooting his girlfriend multiple times in the torso, killing her.
Lt. Mike Madden of the San Bernardino Police department said, “Indications are that that relationship had ended recently and the suspect possibly had issues with that.”
CBS Los Angeles reports the victim, 31 year-old Sophia Darlene Vasquez Rubin’s death was described as an execution. Someone driving a tow truck stopped to help her, but her wounds were too massive and she collapsed in front of her home.
Police said around 11:30 am Wednesday they responded to a 911 call that reported a shooting in the area of the 3600 block of Mt. View Lane, San Bernardino.
Lt. Madden said, “We do believe there is a strong likely that he is still armed and considered to be dangerous.”
Police believed the suspect possibly took off to his Riverside apartment.
The complex was surrounded by SWAT. They found Jacinto’s car, which is a white newer BMW. However, he wasn’t anywhere to be found.
One neighbor said, “I don’t know what could’ve set him off to do something like this if he done I don’t know but this is a total shock to us.” .
Other neighbors told KCAL9’s Crystal Cruz that the crime didn’t sound like Jacinto.
Another neighbor stated, “He ain’t no bad. He seems like a good-hearted guy that works everyday. So it might just be a relationship issue, I guess, you know.”
The suspect, Jacinto has an arrest record, but police wouldn’t say specifically for what.
Currently there is a warrant for his arrest.
