Pasadena police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who, last night, threw a homemade explosive device into the Cheesecake Factory restaurant at 2 W. Colorado Blvd.
The blast was reported a little after 6:00 pm Thursday night. Luckily no one was injured.
According to the Pasadena Police Department, evacuation of the restaurant immediately took place. CBS Los Angeles reports that soon after the evacuation, officers located the detonated homemade pyrotechnic device.
Police said, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad rendered the device safe after also responding to the scene.
A Pasadena police statement said, “Pasadena Police detectives are currently handling the investigation and out of an abundance of caution the federal authorities have been notified.” As of now, the motive is said to not be known.
According to witnesses the suspect is said to be either Hispanic or Middle Eastern, with a thin build, a heavy beard, about 6 feet tall, wearing a black beanie and all black clothing.
