If you missed the Oscars, no worries I got you covered with some highlights from last night.
Jimmy Kimmel’s Tweet To President Trump
Jimmy Kimmel did a great job hosting the event. His jokes and segments were hilarious. At one point, Jimmy tweeted directly to President Trump. That tweet has since become one of Jimmy’s most popular tweets.
He quickly followed that up with:
Justin Timberlake’s Opening Performance
Justin Timberlake kicked off the evening with an amazing performance.
The Jimmy Kimmel And Matt Damon Feud
Jimmy Kimmel kept his feud with Matt Damon going throughout the Oscars. He got a quick hit on him during his opening monologue saying, “I’ve known Matt for a long time now, I’ve known Matt so long when I first met Matt, I was the fat one. True.”
Poor Matt didn’t even get announced when he got on stage to present. Instead he was introduced with Ben Affleck as “Ben Affleck and guest”. To top it off every time he tried to talk Jimmy had the orchestra play the wrap up music over him.
Jimmy jokingly gave Matt some credit for his acting though:
Moana Singer Hit In Head With Flag
Auli’i Cravalho, the 16-year-old singer from the movie Moana, put on an amazing performance last night. She proved what a pro she is after getting hit in the head during her performance. One of the dancers in the background accidentally hit her in the head with a flag. Auli’i just kept on singing though.
Gary From Chicago And The Tour Bus
One of my favorite moments from last night was the tour bus that got brought into the award show. The people on the tour bus thought they were going to see an exhibit for Oscar dresses, little did they know they’d being seeing the dresses on the actress. One of the stars from the tour bus was Gary from Chicago.
Best Picture Mix Up
If you did watch the Oscars, hopefully you watched until the end, because that’s when the real drama started. Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway were on stage to present Best Picture. After the nominees were read there was an awkward pause. Warren definitely looked confused, so Faye reached over and announced “La La Land” as the winner. The cast and crew of La La Land took the stage and started their speeches, but you could tell something was wrong. Someone from the Oscars was on stage checking the envelope which contained the winner. Turns out the actual Best Picture winner was “Moonlight”. Warren claims he had an envelope that had “Emma Stone- La La Land” on it, which is what Faye saw when she announced “La La Land” as the winner. Emma was already presented with her Oscar for Best Actress and claims she still had the card. Who really know what happened, but here’s what it looked like and some of the hilarious tweets.
