After 3 Years, The New 91 Express Lanes Are Officially Open

It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for… the opening of the 91 Freeway Express Lanes in Corona!

As of 4am this morning, people traveling westbound have had smooth sailing.  As of 5am this morning, the eastbound lanes have opened as well.

The project was created to widen the freeway and to add two express lanes to ease the nightmare commute on the 91.  There was also an additional general purpose lane created for both the east and westbound 91.

The 91 had to be temporarily shut down over the weekend so work crews could finish up this LONG-AWAITED project.

The cost of the project was appoximately $1.4 billion dollars and took 3 years to complete.
