After a 15-year break, we’re hearing rumors the lead single from Shania Twain’s 5th album could be in our hands by this weekend! This, coming from an article in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Not only that, but she may be the “surprise” performer on this Sunday’s 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards. We’ve scoured the list of performers scheduled for the telecast on CBS, and Shania Twain is not mentioned at all.
However, if the rumors are true, she will take the stage at T Mobile Arena and perform the new single. She’s currently doing a residency at Caesar’s Palace in Vegas, so this makes a lot of sense. Just a hop, skip and a jump to the ACM’s!
The new album will be call Triumphant by the way, and should be released in May, according to a recent interview Shania gave to Rolling Stone.
Shania’s previous 4 albums were produced by her then-husband, Mutt Lange. Mutt is what we like to call a “mega” arena rock producer, in that he’s produced some of the best rock/pop albums in history including albums from Def Leppard, AC/DC, Foreigner and more.
The couple divorced in 2010.
Shania Twain has sold over 85 million albums and is the best-selling female artist in the history of country music, and one of the best selling artists of all time.
Be sure to tune in to the Academy of Country Music Awards this Sunday night, April 2nd, at 8pm Pacific Time on CBS.
