Coachella, it’s where people get together to have a fun weekend getaway in Indio filled with parties and concerts from some of the biggest names in music. But, be careful it’s also a party for thieves.
Thieves like 36 year-old Reinaldo De Jesus Henao from New York. He attended Coachella last weekend for the loot. He was caught stealing. In fact, he was caught in the act of stealing cell phones from festival attendees.
A press release from the Indio Police Department says that Henao’s plans to get away with his stolen phone stash was foiled after several victims used their Find My Phone feature and tracked him down.
Henao was detained by security who called Indio police. After the police arrived, they searched the suspects bag and found it contained over 100 stolen cell phones.
Some of the phones have been returned to their owners, and the rest have been turned over to Coachella’s Lost & Found.
Reinaldo De Jesus Henao was booked on suspicion of grand theft and receiving stolen property charges, but was reportedly released after posting bail of $10,000.
