Due to a potential threat of salmonella in the jalapeño-flavored seasoning used in their products, popular potato chip manufacturer Frito-Lay announced a recall of certain potato chips.
On Friday the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said in a statement that the recall applies to multiple products made by the company that were distributed to stores nationwide.
CBS Los Angeles reports that the recall of a seasoning blend, which includes jalapeño powder, was issued by Frito-Lay after a supplier declared a recall.
The FDA said in the statement, “Although no Salmonella was found in the seasoning supplied to Frito-Lay, the company has decided to recall these products out of an abundance of caution.”
