Carly Pearce wrote her debut solo single “Every Little Thing” as personal therapy after a particularly difficult break-up, but says she always thought it was too personal to share.
“I wrote this song thinking that nobody would ever hear it,” confesses Carly in a statement from her label. “And my producer busbee and I had a listening party for some people in the industry and one of the guys fell in love with it and before I knew it he was like, ‘I want this song on the radio now. This is your song, this is it.’
“And I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is such a personal story, there’s no way.’ But I let him have it, and immediately, I’ve said it before, it really did have a mind of its own and just kind of sprouted wings and made me realize how much country music really is about the lyric and is about the truth of the song.”
