Singer-Songwriter Bruce Robison Diagnosed with Typhus

Our thoughts and prayers go out to singer-songwriter Bruce Robison, who has had to cancel shows due to a recent bout with typhus.

His sister, singer-songwriter Robyn Ludwick, posted the following message on her Facebook page over the weekend:

“Please keep sending good vibes to my big brother Bruce Robison. He is still very sick in the hospital and slowly improving from Typhus which has caused pretty severe complications to his liver, kidneys and immune system. Day 5 in the hospital but hopefully doctors will send him home soon. I know my sis Kelly Willis needs this to be over too. She’s an amazing and strong woman y’all. But you probably already knew that.

Bruce has worked his ass off to prepare for the release of his brand new album. You can’t imagine what a blow and set back it is for him to not be on stage for his fans right now. Do me a favor and buy his record, download a song or three and or buy tickets to a show this summer. His new album deserves it. And so does he.”

On May 20th, Bruce’s wife, singer-songwriter (and frequent collaborator) Kelly Willis, posted that the couple was in their sixth day of trying to make Bruce’s fever go away.

On May 23rd, Bruce’s management announced he had pneumonia.

Shows for last weekend were cancelled as a result, as well as shows scheduled for Thursday, June 1st and Friday, June 2nd.

Bruce has written songs like “Desperately” and “Wrapped” (both recorded by George Strait) and “Angry All the Time” (recorded by Tim McGraw).
