MLB To Allow Nicknames On the Back of Players Jerseys For One Weekend

All of those fun nicknames that you call your favorite MLB players will now be embroidered on the back of their jerseys during “Players Weekend” August 25-27.

Each jersey will also have a patch that will allow the player to personalize it by writing the name of an individual or organization that was instrumental to his development.

Yahoo! Sports also revealed that other gear including spikes, batting gloves, wristbands, compression sleeves and catcher’s masks will have minimal color restrictions.

The MLB will sell the jerseys and donate the proceeds to the Youth Development Foundation.
