This past weekend a woman showed her appreciation and thanked firefighters by paying a $400 Denny’s restaurant bill for them.
Saturday night firefighters who stopped by the Denny’s in Colton to get a bite eat after they finished battling the La Cadena Fire in La Loma Hills got a surprise, as they discovered an anonymous woman paid their $355.22 bill. In total, with the tip included she paid $405.22.
CBS Los Angeles reports there were about 25 firefighters eating dinner when the woman told staff at the restaurant that she wanted to pay for their meals.
The woman’s gratitude didn’t end there, as she also put $100 on a gift card, and asked the Denny’s employees to make sure it got spent on dessert for the next group of firefighters.
According to the City of Colton Fire’s Facebook page, 14 different agencies joined to fight the La Cadena Fire. They issued a statement from all of them: “[W]e thank you for your generous show of support. We are all honored to serve the citizens of our communities.”
