Local Boxer Who Was Put In Coma After Fight Has Returned To SoCal

25 year-old Daniel “Twitch” Franco, a professional boxer from Rancho Cucamonga, who was put into a medically induced coma after suffering a brain injury during a boxing match in Iowa last month, was reportedly flown back to Southern California Monday.

CBS Los Angeles reports that on June 10, Franco was in Iowa fighting in a featherweight match against Jose Haro of Utah when sustained a head injury. Officials saw Franco wobbling after taking a punch in the eighth round and that’s when the fight was stopped.

After the fight the boxer was transported to a hospital where doctors put him in a medically induced coma after discovering several brain bleeds.
