Instant Coffee Recalled For Containing Ingredient Similar To Viagra

An instant coffee product is being taken off the shelves for containing a Viagra like ingredient.

CBS Los Angeles reports that according to regulators, after a laboratory analysis from the FDA confirmed the presence of desmethyl carbodenafil, Bestherbs Coffee LLC has decided to voluntarily recall its coffee.

Reportedly desmethyl carbodenafil is said to be “structurally similar to sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, which is the very popular FDA-approved prescription drug for erectile dysfunction.

Kopi Jantan Tradisional Natural Herbs Coffee, which is a brand that can be bought online, is also being recalled for containing an undeclared milk ingredient.

Even though the product is being marketed to men as a male enhancement drink, the FDA’s concern is that the combination of sildenafil mixing with other prescription drugs people might be taking could pose health risks. Especially if they have high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease.

If you have the product, you are asked to return it to Bestherbs Coffee LLC, 4250 Claremont Dr, Grand Priarie, TX 75052. Officials say returns will be reimbursed by check for the returned goods and postage.
