The woman had a thing for Michael as evidenced in the lyrics “you’re a flavor that I’ve never picked” and “if you were on the end of a popsicle stick, I would eat you up as you melted all over my hand.”
Country newcomers, Levon, are making an entrance into the country music world with a sexy new ‘cougar anthem’.
The trio, Michael David Hall, Jake Singleton and Ryan Holladay, just released their debut video for their new single, “Ms. Marianne”, from their recently released 5-song EP.
The song is in fact, a true “story song”, in that lead singer Michael David Hall was wooed by an “older” woman at a restaurant he used to work at in Tennessee. In fact, the video was shot at that exact same bar.
Watch it now:
I had the chance to see Levon live in June at a showcase in Nashville, and let me tell you, there were jaws dropping in the audience when the guys sang their first notes.
Their 3-part harmonies were mind-blowing and every song on their EP is refreshingly their own sound, a mixture of Eagles, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, with a smidge of Little River Band if you ask me.
They are charming on-stage and their joint passion for a 70’s-type vibe to their songs makes them unique, yet relatable to the country audience.
I haven’t been this excited about a breaking act since Brothers Osborne entered the building.
The band got its name as a tribute to The Band’s Levon Helm, and Elton John’s hit song, “Levon”.
Their EP is available now and is one I HIGHLY recommend you get. We look forward to having them visit K-Frog country very soon!
