Sam Hunt Breaks Country Chart Record with “Body Like A Backroad”

Just a week ago, we found out that Sam Hunt‘s catchy summer tune “Body Like A Backroad” had a shot at making country music history.

Today, the history books have been rewritten!

Hunt surpassed Florida Georgia Line‘s “Cruise” for most consecutive weeks, 25, on the Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart. FGL spent 24 weeks on the chart in 2012 and 2013.

Hunt’s single is also the most-downloaded and most-streamed country song and the third-most-downloaded song across all genres, so far in 2017, according to The Boot. The song has also broken over a dozen streaming records and has been certified triple platinum.

Although the first single off of his next album has been a massive hit, Hunt says he doesn’t have a timetable on when his follow-up single will come out.

“I’m in a place in my career and in my life where I’m not willing to give music 100 percent of me anymore,” Hunt said. “I did that for four years, and it was fruitful as far as my career goes, but everything else in my life had to be put on hold, and I’m just not willing to do that for years and years at a time.”

Hunt is currently on the road this summer for his 15 in a 30 Tour.
