Collin Raye Honors Glen Campbell at the Cave in Big Bear [Setlist]

At his Sunday night (August 6th) show at the Cave in Big Bear, Collin Raye proved his live performance is just as solid as it ever was, twenty-five years after his first #1 single, “Love, Me.”

In addition to his myriad of hits, including “That’s My Story,” “Little Rock,” “On the Verge,” “I Can Still Feel You,” the Phil Vassar-penned “Little Red Rodeo,” “My Kinda Girl,” “I Think About You,” and more, Collin also paid tribute to his influences, covering two Glen Campbell songs, and acknowledging the passing of musical heroes Merle Haggard, Glenn Frey, and Chuck Berry.

Prior to performing “Anyone Else,” written by Radney Foster, Collin recalled asking Radney, prior to recording it, “This is a great song. Are you sure you don’t want it?” and Radney’s response, “I want you to have it.”

Collin took an audience member’s request for the album cut “I Wish I Could,” and his poignant performance earned him a standing ovation.

“To the Border and Beyond” had the crowd in the pit doing a “Slappin’ Leather” line dance, followed by an Electric Slide for “My Kinda Girl.”

Opening the show were the Honky Tonk Zeroes, a traditionally-minded duo (Kassidy Heal and Patrick Carrico) named after Waylon Jennings’ iconic album of Billy Joe Shaver songs, Honky Tonk Heroes.
