Arrest Made After Victim Of Shooting Near Victorville Bingo Hall Has Died

According to sheriff’s officials, a 30-year-old who man was shot near a Victorville bingo hall has died and a 24 year-old man was arrested for his slaying.

The Press Enterprise reports online jail records show that Adelanto resident Jose Antonio Cornejo, was arrested on suspicion of murdering Rodney Mosby, of Apple Valley. The suspect was then booked into the Adelanto Detention Center with no bail set.

According to a San Bernardino County sheriff’s news release, around 1:38 p.m., deputies got a report of shots fired in the 16900 block of Jasmine Street, Victorville.

Sheriff’s officials say while they were in route to Jasmine Street, they received another call about a man who was injured and needed assistance at Your Community Bingo Hall at 12234 Hesperia Road.

The victim was found at the bingo hall with a gunshot wound to the upper torso, officials have said. After he was rushed to a nearby hospital, he died.

According to officials, witnesses say right after they heard gun shots they saw a silver SUV speed away from the area. Deputies reportedly found a vehicle matching the description at Nisqualli and Del Gado roads and detained the suspect.
