Country Artists Weigh in on Charlottesville Tragedy

On Saturday, 19 people were injured and one person died, in a horrific hate-filled rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

According to the Denver Post, white nationalists, neo-Nazis and KKK members had planned a large rally to “take America back”, and it turned deadly as counterprotesters took to the streets.

A state of emergency was declared by Governor Terry McAuliffe (D) later that evening.

McAuliffe stated “all the white supremacists and the Nazis who came into Charlottesville today: Go home. You are not wanted in this great commonwealth.”

A 32-year old woman died when a car plowed into a crowd filled with people opposed to the hate rally.

Twitter blew up on Saturday, with many country stars voicing their messages of disgust, outrage, and shock at the events in Charlottesville.
