Midland Admits They’re “Alcoholics” And Talks A Collaboration With Bruno Mars

Seems Midland did a lot of research for their hit song “Drinkin’ Problem”, because the guys admitted to be “alcoholics”. Check out what their drink of choice is.

Right off the bat we had to ask Midland what they were drinking early in the morning, surprisingly nothing with alcohol. Although there was an Irish coffee in the mix, it was alcohol free. They guys revealed that there is a point when it’s “too early” to drink during the day.

However, if the early drink is needed to cure a hangover the guys recommend a Bloody Maria. Midland told us that there’s a rule that whiskey is not on the bus. Tequila is there go-to, because it a stimulant, not a depressant like other alcohols.

The guys joked about being “alcoholics”, so we moved the conversation forward and talked about their upcoming album ‘On The Rocks’ which comes out September 22nd. Scott told the guys that their sound was reminiscent of Dwight Yoakam, which pleased the guys since their band was named after A Dwight song (“Fair to Midland”).

Cameron Duddy who plays who plays the bass guitar and does background vocals is nominated for an award at the MTV Video Music Awards. He’s one of the directors for Bruno Mars’ music video “24K Magic”. In fact, Cameron has already won a VMA for Bruno’s “Locked Out Of Heaven” video.

We asked the guys if there’s a collaboration with Bruno Mars in the works and they revealed that they’ve all written music together. They also revealed that they have no idea where that music went.
