RIVERSIDE (CBS-Riverside) — On Monday a suspicious package was found at the Riverside County sheriff’s Department headquarters on Lemon Street and as a precaution five people were hospitalized.
Reportedly, it was just after 8:30 a.m. when the package was found on the fourth floor of the building. As of now there aren’t any further details available on what type of package was discovered or what it may even have contained.
CBS Los Angeles reports according to authorities, the five people who came into contact with the suspicious package were hospitalized as a precaution after undergoing a decontamination procedure. However, none of the five people complained of having any medial issues.
Officials say that the sheriff’s headquarters remained open as a hazmat team worked to figure out what the package contained.
