Neal%20is%20mixed%20Irish%20and%20Filipino.%20His%20mom%2C%20Filipina%20American%20and%20his%20dad%2C%20Irish-American.%20He%20often%20refers%20to%20himself%20as%20a%20%22Texapino.%22

Neal%20says%20he%20was%20inspired%20by%20the%20variety%20of%20music%20that%20his%20parents%20listened%20to%2C%20including%20country%2C%20rock%2C%20disco%20and%20R%26amp%3BB.

He%20%20first%20sang%20in%20his%20church%20choir%20before%20founding%20an%20R%26amp%3BB%20band.%20He%20later%20switched%20his%20focus%20to%20country%20music%2C%20performing%20in%20various%20bars%20and%20clubs%20in%20Texas.

After%20attending%20junior%20college%20in%20the%20early%201980s%2C%20Neal%20worked%20selling%20shoes%20at%20a%20mall%2C%20where%20he%20ended%20up%20meeting%20his%20wife%2C%20Melinda.%20

Neal%20has%20been%20married%20to%20Melinda%20for%2025%20years.%20They%20have%20two%20children%2C%20daughter%20Miki%20and%20son%20Swayde.

His%20debut%20album%2C%20%27At%20This%20Moment%27%20was%20released%20in%201990.%20He%20released%203%20songs%20from%20the%20album%2C%20however%20none%20of%20them%20made%20it%20into%20the%20Top%2040%20in%20the%20USA.

In%201992%20Neal%20McCoy%20released%20his%20second%20album%2C%20%22Where%20Forever%20Begins%22.%20The%20album%20didn%27t%20produce%20any%20big%20hits%20for%20him.

In%201995%20he%20release%20of%20his%20fourth%20album%20for%20Atlantic%2C%20titled%20%27You%20Gotta%20Love%20That%27.

In%201999%2C%20McCoy%20released%20his%20final%20album%20for%20Atlantic%2C%20%27The%20Life%20of%20the%20Party%27%2C%20unfortunately%20there%20weren%27t%20any%20hits%20off%20this%20album%20either.

Due%20to%20the%20closure%20of%20Atlantic%20Records%27%20Nashville%20division%20in%20mid-2000%2C%20McCoy%27s%20next%20album%2C%20%2724-7-365%27%2C%20was%20issued%20via%20Warner%20Bros.%20Records.%20without%20much%20success.

In%202005%2C%20Neal%20McCoy%20founded%20the%20903%20Music%20label%20along%20with%20his%20manager%2C%20Karen%20Kane.%20His%20first%20single%20for%20his%20own%20label%20was%20%22Billy%27s%20Got%20His%20Beer%20Goggles%20On%22%2C%20which%20reached%20the%20Top%2010%20on%20the%20Hot%20Country%20Songs%20chart%20in%202005.

Darryl%20Worley%20and%20the%20Drew%20Davis%20Band%20were%20eventually%20signed%20to%20903.%20Worley%20released%20his%202006%20album%20Here%20and%20Now%20%20which%20included%20%22I%20Just%20Came%20Back%20from%20a%20War%22%2C%20while%20the%20Drew%20Davis%20Band%20did%20not%20release%20anything.%20In%20May%202007%2C%20McCoy%20announced%20that%20the%20label%20had%20filed%20for%20bankruptcy%20and%20closed%20its%20doors.
